On Friday an oil tanker collided with a lorry in Freetown, the capital of Sierra Leone. President Bio has declared three days of national mourning. Hospitals in the capital are struggling to cope in the aftermath because health services in Sierra Leone are still recovering from the impact of the Ebola pandemic in 2014 and the mudslides of 2017.

One of our biggest ongoing challenges is a lack of electricity. Very recently a child died because the electricity powered by our diesel generator went out during the night. The donation from TFS will enable us to run a smaller generator throughout the whole night at a much cheaper cost.
