Walking for the Mothers and Orphans of post civil war and Ebola Sierra Leone
On Saturday morning at 9:00 am, July 15, 2017, members of Pan-African Rural Health and Social Services (PRHeSS) will gather at St. Andrew United Methodist Church, 18850 S. Riegel Road, Homewood, for their 9th Annual Walk-a-Thon. The 5 mile walk through Homewood City limits is raising money to support the mothers of Sierra Leone and their families by providing clean drinking water, decent toilet facilities, food, clothing, school and medical supplies. After years of a devastating civil war and the Ebola epidemic crisis, the mothers of Sierra Leone not only struggle to feed and clothe their families, but also are in need of medical and educational facilities for their children.
PRHeSS` newly constructed medical facility needs your help to continue caring for the sick in rural Sierra Leone.
Dr. Samuel Kormoi, M.D., a native of Sierra Leone and a resident of Homewood, founded the organization in 2007. The PRHeSS office is located at 12757 S. Western Ave. in Blue Island, Suite 106. Persons interested in supporting the organization can call 708/668 6020 for more information.
